Dave Allen RIP

The great Irish comedian Dave Allen has died. It is interesting to note that this made the front page of The Guardian and The BBC website, but at the time of writing * nary a mention in The Irish Independant or The Irish Times. These are Irelands biggest selling newspapers, and Dave Allen is probably Irelands greatest ever comedian. I hate to think this, but the absence of the story begs the question is this because Allen was based in England and the hypocrisies of Catholic Ireland were his favourite targets?
