Kerry Sky
The vast skies of the American West are spectacular to see, but for my money, nothing beats the drama of the Dingle Peninsula. The light is constantly changing as the North Atlantic clouds mesh and break on the mountains. Blue skies quickly give way to temperamental storm clouds, and frequently, sunshine and storm coexist in the same patch of sky. I have taken hundreds of photos of the scene above, and no two are alike. The offshore wind sends rain-laden clouds over the Sliabh Mish mountain range, where the granite hills drag the watery bounty onto their steep slopes, filling the myriad mountain streams and lakes in the process. You can sit sunning yourself on the beaches of Brandon Bay while watching the rain falling on the mountains barely a half mile away.

Me too. I love a moody landscape and a glowering sky. That came in pretty handy growing up. My husband, a Midwesterner, on the other hand gets depressed as all buggery after a few days of the old atmospherics. Different clouds for different crowds, I spose.
True. I actually find endless blue skies a little boring after a while. That said endless rain just kills me. I don't mind the, it's sunny, no it's rainy, oops now it's windy, a little drizzle, here comes the sun again, Kerry weather though.
I love me a good bit of gloom and was really looking forward to a bit while we were home.
Had to go up inside a cloud at the Conor Pass to find some.
Feckin' sun.
Clouds, Conor Pass. Pretty much a guarantee! Although I have always noticed that no matter how rainy or cloudy it is on the pass, it will still break every few minutes and provide a view that will stun you silent.
I was looking for that guinness add myself when i saw your picture of west kerry. If you ever get a chance to walk (2 hours ish) up to caherconree on the slieve mish mts and it just so happens to be cloud free !! the all round scenery is very cool.
