I've been using a 40D lately and I really like it, but sometimes it can be a bit obvious if you want to take casual pictures of people. For that, I find a Canon G9 does the trick nicely.
I love it, I've considered upgrading to the 40D, but it's not really worth it. I has one great advantage, the sensor cleaning feature. I've had to clean mine by hand, and it can be fatal.
I used to have the Canon G5 which I loved until I heard the following:

why that's me. I can tell by the rock'n'roll belt, and the handle grip perfected over years of ruling tables in many a san francisco dive bar.
